At Little Animal Hospital we strive to make your visits easy and convenient. To aid in this commitment, we have in-house laboratory equipment which allows us to do complete blood counts and serum chemistries with same day results. Other laboratory tests available include, but not limited to, urinalysis, skin scraping, fungal culture and ear cytology. When the situation arises that your pet may need his/her blood pressure checked or an ECG, we have this equipment available on site. In the event your animal requires more advanced testing, we have access to outside laboratory services.
During your pet’s life, there may be times of injury or illness that require the use of radiographs to determine the problem. We offer in-house radiology with automatic film processing to give you quick, same day results.
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart. It is sometimes referred to as an “echo.” An echocardiogram is used to evaluate any type of heart disease, such as heart murmurs or other cardiomyopathies. We can evaluate the size of the heart chambers, the thickness of the heart walls, the thickness of the heart valves, and blood flow patterns.
We have an onsite ultrasound to help aid in a quicker diagnosis. An ultrasound is a painless and non-invasive way to check for disease in the internal organs and examine muscles and other tissues. With an ultrasound, we can effectively get to the bottom of what is going on with your pet fast. At Little Animal Hospital, we provide state-of-the-art ultrasound technology for your pet. This technology lets us examine our patients in detail while keeping them as comfortable as possible. In addition to diagnosis, ultrasound is a valuable tool for monitoring pregnancies in animals and guiding biopsies.
