Kali Swenson, DVM

Dr. Kali Swenson grew up in Greenwood, Louisiana. She decided she wanted to be a veterinarian at a young age after her own childhood dogs became ill with parvovirus.

She started shadowing veterinary clinics and knew that she wanted to make a difference by educating owners on how to prevent certain diseases. She received her Bachelor’s in Animal Science at Louisiana Tech University in 2020 and her DVM from Louisiana State University in 2024. While in undergraduate and in veterinary school, she worked part-time at a general practice and emergency clinic. This is where she fell in love with emergency medicine. She loved that she was not only there to help sick and injured pets, but to also be there to comfort their owners. Dr. Swenson knew that she wanted to be closer to home once she graduated veterinary school. After she interviewed at Little Animal Hospital and met the staff, she knew that it was the right fit for her.

Dr. Swenson has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jacob, since 2022. They have a Labrador retriever, German shepherd mix, a calico, and one domestic shorthair. They are expecting their first baby boy this year. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and be outdoors.   Dr. Swenson’s professional interests include dentistry, oncology, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine.
